How to Fast From Social Media
Fasting from social media can be really tricky.
Let’s be honest, it’s so addicting to have the world at your fingertips.
We can always see what people are up to and be in the know, but what about your peace of mind?
When do you have time to focus on being the best version of yourself?
If you take time to step back and unplug from social media (TV, radio, internet, phone, etc.) you will find yourself and be able to focus in on that still small voice inside of you.
Remember, people on social platforms are just showing you just a glimpse into their life and we really do not have the whole picture- behind the scenes (looks can be deceiving). Social media turns on that inner judge inside of us and we are quick to condemn they way people express themselves. We are also subject to low vibrational energy and people on social media, not to mention the traumatic videos and images we are bombarded with (death and “the wretched”).
This kind of stuff may make you feel numb, but it also gets in your spirit an it has effect on your psyche. Before you know it, you are living that out and wondering why you have so much negativity in your life. The pull of social media is hard, but once you take action slowly deprogram yourself, you will be able to consume less social media and monitor what you are looking at on a daily basis in order to protect your peace.
Here are some things you can do instead of hanging out on social media.
- Get Out Into Nature – Get outside in nature and go for a walk and be still and enjoy all the things that the Creator (whoever God is to you).
2. Do Yoga or meditate/pray- focus on conscious breathing, which is healing to the soul.
3. Read a book- After many years of not reading, the first book I read was the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I am so glad I did! As time passed on I have read more and more. I am currently reading the Isis Papers by Dr. Frances Cress Welsing.
4. Start Journaling – Write down your thought and get it our so you can take action and consciously create your reality.
5. Be Creative – Create a vision board, paint, color in a coloring book.
5. Cross off a to do list – Take care of things you have been putting off.
Much Love!
